On Sunday, June 15th, we performed at the Andean Festival or Festival Andino, an event organized by the organization Alianza Ecuatoriana Internacional, recognizing the importance of andean heritage in New York City.
This event took place at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, in Queens. Dances and music groups presented traditional dances from Ecuador, Bolivia, Colombia, and Peru.
Our annual event, Carnavales de mi Tierra, was a success thanks to everybody’s support and effort.
We would like to thank everyone who came to the show and collaborated with us in one way or another. Special thanks to the public that always support our initiatives.
Our performance included typical dances from cities such as Arequipa, Moquegua, Lima, Piura and Junin. Special guest Ballet Folklorico Peru presented Chonguinada, Papa Qayta and Sonqonacuy, traditional dances from Junin, Ayacucho and Cuzco, respectively.
Music group, Grupo Bohemia, was the night’s sensation. DJ Valentin Obregon made people dance until the last minute. Brian and Ariana, Los Primos Pesantes, performed Marinera Norteña very beautiful.
We hope to see you all in future events.
